Healthwatch Wirral is one of four local Healthwatch branches leading on a national Maternity Mental Health Project being run by Healthwatch England.
This involves carrying out in depth qualitative interviews with birth givers. The criteria we are specifically focusing on those who have experienced difficulties with their mental health because of a traumatic birth.
There is a national survey which all birth givers can complete around all all-maternal mental health: https://bit.ly/3N5aDih.
At the end of the project, Healthwatch Wirral will be provided with the details of Wirral responses, which we will then in turn be able to share and use to influence things locally.
