The Council introduced the New Chester Road travel scheme in 2020 to provide better and safer connections for all road users between New Ferry and Birkenhead. The scheme introduced light segregation units called ‘Orcas’ along the existing cycle lane to protect cyclists from vehicles.
Over the last few years, the ‘Orcas’ (black and white rubber humps on the road outside the practice) have caused a number of accidents to our patients, all of which have been reported without much success.
The council are now holding an open consultation of the travel route on New Chester Road and we would be grateful if patients would take the time to complete the survey and have your say before 9th December 2024.
