NHS England aims to improve the UK’s early-stage cancer diagnosis. If a cancer is detected before any symptoms appear, it means an increased range of treatment options, improved long-term survival and improved quality of life.
In the UK 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. If you are aged over 50, or you are black or mixed ethnicity, or your dad or brother had it, you are at even higher risk.
Prostate cancer is not always life-threatening. But when it is, the earlier you catch it the more likely it is to be cured. The team at Riverside are looking at ways in which we can help reduce these numbers by offering an online risk checker.
Answer three quick questions to check your risk.
If you are highlighted as ‘At Risk’ please contact the Reception team on 0151 645 3464 to book an appointment for a PSA blood test and screening.
