The Government will be running a test of the Emergency Alert Service on 7th September at 15:00 hours. This test should make mobile phones vibrate and make a siren sound for 10 seconds while displaying a message even if they are set to silent.
There are a number of resources online offering guidance on how to disable the alert if this is necessary for the person’s safety (an action that should only be taken if essential).
