From 1st April 2022, Merseyside Society for Deaf People (MSDP) will be the provider for BSL interpretation support (BSL, SSE, Deaf-Blind Manual, Deaf-Blind Hands On, lipspeaker) for GP consultations. Please inform the surgery when you make an appointment that you would like to book an interpreter.
MSDP’s Duty Services are co-located at Ashville Lodge, Ashville Road, Birkenhead, CH41 8AU where Wirral Society of the Blind & Partially Sighted (WSBPS) are located. This exciting partnership will be really beneficial to patients with dual sensory needs. MSDP are also available to provide advice, guidance and wider support services to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Wirral Society of the Blind & Partially Sighted have been providing services in Wirral since 1989. They continue to provide advice, guidance, equipment and training for people living with and coming to terms with sight loss, in addition to an advocacy service.
