Getting grants to families with disabled young adults

Posted on February 27th, 2023

National charity Family Fund currently has grants available for families raising a disabled or seriously ill young adult, aged 18 to 24, living at home. The Your Opportunity programme funds a range of grants aimed at reducing the barriers faced by disabled young adults, including laptops and tablets, transport costs, vocational training, leisure and sport activities and much more.

Who can apply?
You can apply if you can say yes to all of the following:

  • You are the main parent or carer of a disabled or seriously ill young adult aged 18-24, who lives at home with you
  • You have not received a Your Opportunity grant on behalf of this young adult in the past 12 months
  • You have lived in the UK for the last six months
  • You have a low household income, or if you receive a benefit such as Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit etc.

Families are asked to please apply as soon as possible to gain support now, whilst funding is available.
