Message from NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB
At the time of writing this letter, the British Medical Association (BMA) has announced further rounds of strikes by resident doctors. The walkout is scheduled to take place from 7am on Friday 14 November to 7am on Wednesday 19 November 2025. The industrial action will cause significant disruption in an already busy winter period.
Patients asking about urgent referrals taking place during the period of industrial action should be told that there may be longer waiting times both to be seen in the hospital setting during admission and in waits for outpatient investigation or appointments. This may also apply to some two-week wait times. Patients should attend existing appointments unless they have been told not to.
At Riverside Surgery, two of our junior GP’s will be striking at this time. GP appointments will be short as Dr Ganti is also on annual leave.
